Frequently Asked Questions

Q.  Do I have to be a teacher to participate in CHECK?

A.  No.  CHECK is a cooperative program and teaching classes is just one way that you as a parent can fulfill your required volunteer hours at CHECK.  Any parent can offer to teach a class at CHECK in any subject for any grade level.  Teachers do get priority registration for their children's classes.  Classes you wish to teach must be submitted to the CHECK Board via the Class Submission Form.  The Board will then create the 2012-2013 Class Schedule based on approved class submissions.

Q.  Do I have to volunteer at CHECK?

A.  Yes.  All families participating in CHECK are required to fulfill a volunteer commitment. Volunteering comes in many forms and includes things like; teaching a class, being a teachers aide, lunch time set-up and clean up, recess monitor, nursery helper, vacuum-er, and more.

Q.  Do I have to stay onsite at CHECK if my children are enrolled in classes?

A.  We always encourage parents to stay at CHECK while their children are in classes.  It is a good time to fulfill the volunteer hours and a wonderful time to meet other home-school parents and create a connection to the CHECK family.  If you need to leave campus, for whatever reason, you will be required to sign-out and leave contact information should we need to get a hold of you while you are gone.

Q.  Do we have to be at CHECK all day?

A.  No.  We offer 4 class periods at CHECK.  2 before lunch and recess and then 2 after.  You may enroll your children in how ever many hours you would like to, but we do encourage full day attendance as it helps your children to build friendships and gain valuable classroom skills.

Q.  How do we register for CHECK?

A.  If you are new to CHECK we would encourage you to please contact us at checkhomeschool@gmail.com so we can get to know you and keep you informed of all important registration dates.  If you are a returning family please wait for the appropriate registration date to download the registration forms.
